Project overview

This Nerang project transformed an unused concrete slab into a modern, lowmaintenance outdoor entertaining area that the homeowners can enjoy all year round. Rather than leaving the existing concrete exposed, we constructed a premium raised deck using an H4 Extreme treated pine subframe, premium Ekodeck Designer Series composite decking, joist protection tape and stainless steel fixings throughout. The finished result provides a durable, attractive outdoor living space that’s built to withstand South East Queensland’s climate.

The homeowners wanted a decking solution that looked great while requiring very little ongoing maintenance.

An H4 Extreme treated pine subframe provides excellent structural durability, while joist protection tape helps protect the framing from trapped moisture, extending the life of the deck. Ekodeck Designer Series was selected for its realistic timber appearance, long warranty and low-maintenance performance, eliminating the need for regular sanding, staining or oiling. Stainless steel fixings were used throughout to provide superior corrosion resistance in South East Queensland’s coastal climate.

What was once a bare concrete slab has been completely transformed into a premium outdoor entertaining area. The new composite deck delivers the warmth and appearance of natural timber without the ongoing maintenance, providing the homeowners with a beautiful, durable outdoor space that is built to be enjoyed for many years.
